Our comprehensive services include:

Student Assessment: We collect and review transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, writing samples and the results of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as well as honors and awards to provide an initial suggested college list from which to begin the college search process. We utilize the assessment as a foundation for student self-understanding from which to choose a college and career path that reflects their natural talents, interests, and passions.

Curriculum Selection and Standardized Test Preparation Strategy: Working from each student’s strengths and natural orientation for learning, we provide guidance for high school curriculum selection and standardized test preparation strategies

Extracurricular Activities: We facilitate brainstorming sessions for planning out-of-school learning and service opportunities and activities.

Tutor Services Referrals: Gleaned from years of experience working with local educators, we provide a list of high-quality, proven area tutor referrals for all subjects and standardized test preparation.

Financial Aid Overview: All college planning should begin with an in-depth conversation on college affordability. We provide detailed financial aid instruction and support throughout the process, as well as referrals to our financial planning and certified public accountant consultants that can address investment and tax strategies that families may be entitled to.

Development of Targeted College List:  We prepare a list of 10-15 good fit colleges.  

The College Game Plan Playbook: All students receive a binder with a detailed action plan and timeline.

Student Resume Development: We assist students with resume development using College Game Plan's Resume Development Guide and Templates

Interview Preparation and Mock Sessions: Practice, practice, practice. We hold practice sessions to guide and prepare students for phone and in-person communication with college admissions and alumni interviewers

 College Application and Essay Writing Sessions: We support and guide students as they brainstorm, prepare, and edit their college and scholarship applications and essays and supervise the draft revision process.

 Assistance Negotiating Offers: Our support doesn't end when the acceptance letters arrive. We guide families through all phases of the accepted student's merit financial aid package negotiations.

Transition to College Workshop: Transitions can be tough. An integral part of our counseling includes The College Game Plan Freshman Rising Seminar where we discuss typical challenges new college students face. We review student support services, tools and resources available for new college students and suggest strategies to ease the transition.
